Festive creativity with an environmental twist!
Environmentally friendly Christmas creativity was taking place in the function room at Castle Vale Stadium yesterday.
The Community Environmental Trust (CET) hosted a Christmas Decorations Workshop, welcoming residents from Castle Vale and surrounding communities to craft their own festive decorations from naturally sourced materials.
CET delivered a variety of different activities including making fresh-ivy and fern Christmas wreaths and baubles. There was even a reindeer food-making activity for the children!
Ezzat Mosavi is an Environmental Youth Officer working for CET and was a key team member in organising the event.
She said: “We have delivered this workshop using local resources from our community. Rather than using plastic, that can be damaging to the environment, we use our own, natural materials.”
“We also added child-friendly activities so that the whole family can get involved and enjoy making the decorations.”
“The aim is always to bring people together, from different ages, cultures and backgrounds.”
